On Wednesday, May 4th, three construction workers were rescued after a floor collapsed at the former Edison Power Plant on Summer Street in South Boston.

Two workers were immediately removed from the building and transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Unfortunately however, a third person was trapped under a large piece of the floor, for more than three hours and sustained severe injuries.

We will be holding a fundraiser to help support the injured construction workers. Thanks to Keches Law, we will be matching all donations up to $5,000. Please consider making a donation today.

On Friday, March 18th, four Marines were killed during a training exercise in Norway. One of those Marines, was Captain Ross Reynolds, A 27-year-old Leominster Massachusetts native.

Capt. Ross Reynolds, of Leominster, was onboard an Osprey aircraft that crashed during a NATO exercise, the Marine Corps said.

“Massachusetts mourns the loss of [Marine Corps Capt.] Ross Reynolds of Leominster, who tragically lost his life last week during a training exercise in Norway,” Gov. Charlie Baker said Sunday. “The Marines who tragically passed in the accident are all heroes. We honor his service to our nation and pray for his family.”

Reynolds was approaching five years of service in the Marines, during which he earned the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon. He piloted Ospreys and was based at Marine Corps Air Station New River in North Carolina.

In a statement, the Reynolds family said they were “broken-hearted” and left trying to imagine life without their son.

“We are in shock and are devastated by his loss. We will miss his smile, his hugs, his laughter. We will miss his energy and goodness. Ross was so caring, compassionate and committed, not only to his country, but also to being the best son, brother, husband, son-in-law, nephew, cousin, uncle, brother-in-law, friend and Marine that he could be. We appreciate all those who have reached out to support us at this difficult time. We pray for Ross and the other Marines lost in this tragic accident,” the family said.

The Greg Hill Foundation will be matching all donations up to $5,000. Please consider making a donation to support the Reynolds Family.

Just before midnight on Thursday, March 3rd Massachusetts State Police Trooper Tamar Bucci tragically passed after a fatal accident when her cruiser was struck by a tanker truck. Trooper Bucci was attempting to pull to the side of the road to assist a disabled motorist at the time of the accident.

Massachusetts State Police Department Col. Christopher Mason said. “Late last night, on a stretch of road she protected every night on the midnight shift, Trooper Bucci gave her life in the act of trying to help another person in distress. There is no greater act of sacrifice than to give one’s life for another,”

The force of the impact pushed the cruiser, which had its blue lights activated, off the roadway.

“The department is devastated by our loss. We are eternally grateful for the attempts of everyone involved to assist Trooper Bucci and (try) to save her life,” Mason said.

The Greg Hill Foundation will be hosting a fundraiser for the Bucci Family and matching all donations up to $10,000. Please consider making a donation in honor of State Police Trooper Tamar Bucci.

On November 6, 2021, Captain Steve DesRuisseaux of the Manchester NH Fire Department received 3rd degree burns over 40% of his body while trying to rescue residents trapped in a multifamily building. DesRuisseaux was overcome with flames during a flashover, and a breathing device got caught on a ladder, trapping him as he dove out the window to escape the blaze. It was determined at a local hospital that second- and third-degree burns covered about 40% of his body. He was then flown to Mass General and is currently in recovery while being treated for his injuries. Capt. DeRuisseaux and his wife, Colleen have been married for 24 years. They have two children, Megan age 19 and Jack age 17.

“The actions of the crews last night went above and beyond the call of duty, and Captain DesRuisseaux’s efforts were nothing short of heroic. Captain DesRuisseaux’s actions led to the rescue of six people and is a true testament to Steve’s professionalism,” Battalion Chief Dave Flurey said in a statement.

We will be holding a fundraiser for Capt. Steve DesRuisseaux and matching all donations up to $10,000.

Please consider making a donation and supporting the DesRuisseaux Family in their time of need.
