Captain Andrew Porter, a 25 year veteran of the Rockport Fire Department had just had a great weekend golfing with family and close friends on Cape Cod. He was out mowing his lawn on Memorial Day when his wife and youngest daughter heard the mower stop and looked outside to see Andrew on the ground. All of the efforts of the Gloucester fire rescue couldn’t bring him back.
Captain Porter was a loving husband and father of two amazing girls. His wife Alison and him would have celebrated their 14th year anniversary on May 28th two days after the incident occurred. Andrew was the type of person that would help anyone and drop anything for anyone. The sudden loss of Andrew is going to extremely had on his entire family.
