Glen & Megan Jusczyk

Glen and Megan Jusczyk lost their daughter Malia to cancer in June of 2023. She had been diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, a cancer of the nervous system as a young child. Through surgery, chemotherapy and radiation, Malia seemingly fought her cancer and went into remission for years. Her parents, Glen and Megan then started a foundation in 2011 to help other kids with cancer. The foundation has been raising awareness for neuroblastoma, funding pediatric cancer research, and providing financial assistance to families affected by cancer ever since.

Tragically, Malia was re-diagnosed after 8 years in remission, and battled her cruel disease fiercely until she passed on June 14, 2023 at 14 years old. Malia’s final words were “I’ve Got This!” which is fitting given her courageous and nature to never quit.

Following Malia’s passing, it would have been so easy for her parents to give up on their mission to help other kids after facing such unimaginable loss. However, Glen and Megan have selflessly persevered and continue to raise money for kids with cancer through numerous events (road races, celebration of life festivals, selling merchandise). Thanks to Glen and Megan, the phase “Malia’s Legacy Lives On” continues to spread and give assistance and hope to kids with cancer.

On Wednesday June 11, Chick-fil-A and The Greg Hill Foundation awarded Meagan and Glen as Chick-fil-A Community Heroes with their son Kole present with Glen not able to attend. They were awarded a Chick-fil-A prize pack including Chick-fil-A for one year and $2,000 to For Kids’ Sake Foundation.
