Jay Barnes founded the Burlington Lawn Mowers Dream Team which provides free lawn mowing and additional yard services for Burlington, or nearby, residents in need. He assembled this team to assist with free lawn mowing, weed pulling, weed whacking/weed eating, branch trimming, small branch removal, hedge trimming, or other yard services to those with financial distress, elderly, veterans, single parents, or injured residents of the area. In 2022, the Dream Team provided free yard service 267 times which is close to double of 2021.
On Tuesday, April 23rd, Chick-fil-A and The Greg Hill Foundation awarded Jay with a Chick-fil-A prize pack including Chick-fil-A for one year, gas cards to help cover costs of mowing, and $2,000 to the Burlington Lawn Mowers Dream Team.
The Greg Hill Foundation responds to immediate requests for assistance, to improve the lives of local families touched by tragedy, through matching the charitable donation of Greg’s media audience.
