On Saturday, September 20th, a gunman opened fire at Sky Meadow Country Club. The tragic incident left one person killed and at least two badly injured. The victims were restaurant patrons simply enjoying their Saturday night meal.
Robert Steven DeCesare, 59, was killed while protecting his wife and daughter who were closest to the shooter when he entered the restaurant.
Steven Burtman of Lowell was working as the food and beverage manager and was significantly injured after being shot and spent several days under sedation. He will be facing a difficult path ahead but his family is optimistic he will make a full recovery.
Another individual was injured and is on the long road to recovery.
In addition to these injuries, many other patrons and employees were impacted during this tragic event.
